New Tatiana Nova EP is beautifully emotional
(Published: January 28, 2020)

Tatiana Nova is an artist and songwriter with a passion for infectious melodies and beautifully emotional vocals. Her music combines the visceral energy of soul with the soothing aesthetics of jazz, making for a distinctive and one-of-a-kind sound.

Recently, Nova set out to release a brand new studio EP titled Planeta, which actually means "Planet" in Russian. This project sets the bar quite high for the artist, channeling her ability to combine tasteful arrangements with spontaneous lyrics and hooks that will immediately connect with listeners on a deeper level.

The single immediately charms with a soothing and atmospheric sound. The opening song, "Planeta" is a sharp glimpse into what this EP is all about, and it is a first taste of Nova's fantastic and highly expressive voice. The record continues with "Miracles," a tune that highlights the singer's amazing versatility and control over her vast vocal range. "Forest" is perhaps my favorite song on this EP, especially because of the way the lead vocals interact and interweave with the instrumental parts so seamlessly and beautifully. At last, "Secrets" serves as a perfect ending for this release, channeling Nova's passion and willingness to connect with the audience on a deeper level. Any fan of artists like Joss Stone, Norah Jones, and Alicia Keys is definitely going to appreciate the nuances in Nova's singing and her songwriting. This is a striking introduction to the world and creativity of this inspired (and inspiring) artist, and an excellent taste of what she is able to accomplish with his vision and eclectic taste. Today, genre definitions are becoming increasingly blurred. It's always refreshing to hear an artist who is not stuck in the usual definitions. If you have time to dig deeper, it is definitely worth it to hit YouTube for some exciting "making of" videos, in which you'll be able to see how Nova and her talented band brought these songs to life.

The EP was recorded in a fantastic studio, filled with amazing gear and more importantly, some thrilling vibes for Nova and her band to truly capture some of the tightest performances and refine their chemistry as a group. Looking at the process gave me an even deeper appreciation for the music and for Nova's vision.
