Subtitled Music for Yoga, Meditation & Massage, this is a lovely self-produced duo offering by that great jazz couple - vocalist Judi Silvano and her husband, sax great Joe Lovano. Judi plays flutes, recorder, percussion and sings and Joe plays bass clarinet, wood flute, recorder and percussion. This is a departure for both of these gifted musicians, yet it indeed seems to come from their hearts, as any other release they have worked on separately or together in the past. Gentle, peaceful, calm, lovely, enchanting and completely organic is what comes to mind as the candle flickers and my mind just drifts into a soothing space. Haunting wooden flute, minimal percussion and mysterious gongs shimmer and help us to float away. A great way to get away from the usual neurotic/nervous energy that life in the big apple often provides.
