U.S. Navy Band Commodores at Fallston HS (Published: April 08, 2011)
The U.S. Navy Band Commodores Jazz Ensemble perform on Thursday, April 14 at 7 p.m. at the Fallston High School 2301 Carrs Mill Rd, Fallston, Md. The concert is free and open to the public and no tickets are required.
The Commodores, "A National Treasure", deliver high-energy big band jazz as well as jazz vocal stylings of Chief Musician Yolanda Pelzer. Tight ensemble playing, thoughtful, energetic solos and the ability to play many styles are just some of the hallmarks of this band.
The Commodores are the Navy's premier jazz ensemble and have recently hosted saxophonist Branford Marsalis, toured parts of Virginia and performed for the International Trumpet Guild.
If you are a fan of big band jazz, this vibrant group should be on the "must see" list. Admission to the concert is free.
