Aziza to Play the Blue Note October 8, 2011 (Published: September 06, 2011)
Join AZIZA at the Blue Note, in New York City on October 8, 2011.
Ten years ago, Linda Williams, best known in music circles for her five-and-a-half years playing and conducting for Natalie Cole, had an epiphany: it was time for a change - time for a new name, a new direction, and a new life. Aziza - the performer, the composer/lyricist, the complete artist - was born. The name Aziza means "beloved and powerful," and the songwriting means that a brand new career has begun and is flourishing for this lady of many talents.
Aziza composed the melody for Miss Cole's "La Costa," a contemporary standard, then wrote and recorded City Living, her debut album on Clive Davis's Arista Records, both under her former name.
Now, night after night, she is conquering audiences with her brilliant songs and charming personality, while holding fast to the humility learned in her early life.
