Petros Klampanis 4tet + Greg Osby and Inner Circle Music Artists @ CORNELIA STREET CAFE
(Published: September 23, 2011)

On Saturday the 8th of October, Petros Klampanis Contextual 4tet returns to Cornelia Street Café, this time with 3 very special Inner Circlers: the saxophonist extraordinaire and Inner Circle Music founder Greg Osby, the young Portuguese singer with the ethereal voice Sara Serpa, the brilliant guitarist Andre Matos and young and very promising saxophonist from Chile, Melissa Aldana.

Petros Klampanis acclaimed 4tet was formed almost one year ago and it combines musical influences from around the world. Petros comes from a small island in Greece where Italian music meets the Balkan musical heritage. Gilad Hekselman, originally from Tel Aviv, is one of the most masterful jazz guitarists in NY. Lefteris Kordis has grown up in Athens, Greece, lives in Boston since 2001 and he is considered one of the freshest piano voices of his generation. John Hadfield is an exceptional percussionist whose music brings sounds and feelings from the Middle East.

"A formidable player and composer, bassist Petros Klampanis garnered acclaim in his native Greece and throughout Europe before moving to New York in 2008. Now a member of Greg Osby's stable at Inner Circle, he makes his auspicious Stateside debut with Contextual."

Bill Milkowski, Jazztimes

"I admit that I am always impressed when I hear a musician like Petros Klampanis give us the gift of his creativity performed on such a timeless vessel."

Raul Amador, Bass Musician Magazine.
