Tomer Bar Trio CD released in U.S. by Spectra Jazz (Published: March 14, 2012)
Spectra Jazz records introduced jazz pianist and composer Tomer Bar's fourth CD entitled "Local Groove" to the United States and Canada on January 3, 2012 and so far continues to receive a warm welcome.
Tomer Bar (Tel Aviv, Israel) shows a versatility as vocalist (singing primarily in Hebrew), as well as, composer for various genres that include Jazz, Classical, Popular and even Country music.
He is joined on the recording by bassist, Uri Kutner (18) and drummer, Ofri Nehemya (18), who match his skill with their comprehension of style and improvisation.
Tomer has been featured twice at the Israeli Festival (2007, 2010), The Tel Aviv Festival (2009) and the Givataim Festival (2011).
The CD is the first to gain distribution outside of Israel and demonstrates a varied combination of melodies supported by jazz forms that incorporate contemporary, bop, Latin, and classical elements.
Favorites on the CD are the samba-like selection "Deeper Dance", "Circles" and a special classical etude entitled "Ballad II", showing the virtuosity of Tomer's piano skill.
The album can be purchased at iTunes, Amazon.com and/or the Spectra Jazz Records website.
