Swing The Afternoon Away With The Swingmachine at Emmanuel Baptist Church Jazz Vespers

(BROOKLYN, NEW YORK- March 11, 2014): Organist Mike LeDonne, Guitarist Peter Bernstein, Saxophonist Vincent Herring, Vocalist Jazzmeia Horn and Drummer Brandon Sanders have come together to perform as The Swingmachine at Emmanuel Baptist Church's next Jazz Vespers. This Jazz Vespers is also part of the 15th Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival. The Emmanuel Baptist Church Jazz Vespers will take place in its standing home at the historic Emmanuel Baptist Church, 279 Lafayette Avenue, located in the Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn, New York, on March 30, 2014 at 3:00 PM.

Simply put, The Swingmachine is reminiscent of the classic Blue Note Records hard-bop straight-ahead jazz groups (and artists) of the 1960's. The Swingmachine is comprised of Peter Bernstein (Guitar), Vincent Herring (Alto Sax), Jazzmeia Horn (Vocalist), Mike LeDonne (Organ), and Brandon Sanders (Drums). The Swingmachine's aim is to play music that uplifts, and inspires listeners to do great things; and, on this occasion, experience the Presence of God, as they swing the afternoon away!

Emmanuel Baptist Church's March Jazz Vespers is also part of the 15th Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival, taking place March 28 thru April 30, 2014. The 15th Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival is NYC's longest continually running grassroots festival dedicated to Jazz. The festival features more than 50 concerts and events with over 500 musicians performing throughout Brooklyn from Coney Island to Williamsburg.

The recurrent theme of the Jazz Vespers is: "Experience the Presence of God through the Sounds of Jazz." Currently in its third year, the Jazz Vespers series has built a following of jazz lovers around New York City and Brooklyn, and continues to secure well-respected jazz musicians that bring an unmistakable feeling of celebration for God, and the jazz art form. Jazz Vespers is more than just a performance, it is an experience. As one past attendee remarked, "I enjoy and look forward to Jazz Vespers! It is an amazing, spiritual, and, musical mixture. Praise God for Jazz!"
