The deadline for submissions for grants and the opportunity to be part of the SA-UK Seasons 2014 & 2015 programme is fast approaching. Submissions must be made online at http://southafrica-unitedkingdom.com/. The open call for proposals closes on Sunday 23 November 2014.

The SA-UK Seasons 2014 & 2015, a joint project between the British Council and the South African Department of Arts and Culture, is a multifaceted bilateral collaboration between South Africa and the United Kingdom, with a particular focus on artistic exchange programmes.

Interested artists and creatives in the fields of visual arts, theatre, dance, cinema, literature, music, creative economy and skills development only have until 23 November 2014 to submit their proposals to participate and receive possible funding to activate existing relationships or create new connections within the arts.

Tom Porter, Programme Manager, British Council Connect ZA said: "Thus far, we have received over 180 submissions and it is wonderful to see how much talent and collaborative initiatives are in the making. The SA-UK Seasons platform is to establish a shared thinking on arts, culture and creative industry issues, ultimately building partnerships and opportunities and we encourage artists and creative institutions to get involved and not miss out on this great opportunity."

Bongani Tembe, Commissioner-General of the SA Seasons in the UK, said: "We are delighted by the enthusiasm of individual artists and arts organisations (from South Africa and United Kingdom) for their willingness to participate in the SA-UK Seasons in 2015 and to reap the benefits that the SA-UK Seasons offers. These artists and creative institutions show a commitment to promoting innovation, nurture leadership of the arts and build partnerships with counterparts in the UK or South Africa. However we urge others to submit their proposals/applications online at http://southafrica-unitedkingdom.com/ before 23 November 2014. The time is now!"

Assistance is available for a partnership support grant for projects that demonstrate a strong delivery partnership between established organisations in the UK & SA, as well as a creative catalyst grant for projects that need assistance to broker, support and develop new projects and partnerships that will benefit from a small-scale budget for travel and/or scoping. Support in the form of the official endorsement of a project is also available, where projects will benefit from the overall marketing and publicity of the SA-UK Seasons.

All projects selected by the joint organising committee will be integrated into the Seasons' programming and will benefit from the overall marketing and PR campaign of the SA-UK Seasons 2014 & 2015.
