JAMAICAN LEGEND TOOTS AND THE MAYTALS
RETURN TO THE STAGE AFTER THREE-YEAR HIATUS
NORTH AMERICAN TOUR DATES CONFIRMED FOR JUNE (Published: April 12, 2016)
Jamaican Reggae and Ska legend Toots and the Maytals, will return to the stage for a run of shows in June on the west coast of North America and in New York City. This tour will celebrate the culmination of three years of extensive physical rehabilitation for Frederick "Toots" Hibbert, after the tragic incident in May 2013 in Richmond, VA, when a glass liquor bottle was thrown from the audience and struck him in the forehead during a performance, severely injuring the singer.
"It has been a difficult three years," said Hibbert. "But I am very happy to be able to now get back together with my musical family and prepare to share my music once again with my incredible fans."
The 2004 Grammy winner's tour begins on June 15th at The Observatory North Park in San Diego, and includes headlining sets at the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival (Boonville, CA), Victoria Ska and Reggae Festival (Victoria, BC), and Groovin' In The Park (Queens, NY).
