ACCLAIMED SINGER-SONGWRITER ALEXA RAY JOEL RETURNS TO CAFÉ CARLYLE, MAY 17-28

Café Carlyle is pleased to welcome back Alexa Ray Joel for her fifth engagement, May 17-28. Reviewing a previous engagement at the Café, The New York Times called Joel, daughter of music legend Billy Joel and supermodel Christie Brinkley, "a singer following her own heart," adding, "Her original work... is firmly grounded in a pop tradition in which streams converge, from gospel to Tin Pan Alley. The songs are bluntly melodic, lyrically direct and catchy." Since she was 15, Joel has been writing complete songs and complementing those songs with piano accompaniment, and writing poetry. At Café Carlyle, Alexa Ray Joel will perform original material in addition to giving her signature style to a set of popular songs. She'll be accompanied by Carmine Giglio on piano.

Performances will take place Tuesday - Saturday at 8:45pm. Reservations made by phone at 212.744.1600 are $75 ($125 for premium seating, $55 for bar seating) Tuesday - Thursday; and $85 ($135 for premium seating, $65 for bar seating) on Friday and Saturday.
