New album from the Carlos Barba Trio reflects band's superlative talents
(Published: May 17, 2016)

The Carlos Barba Trio is a group which is popularly recognized as a modern jazz trio. They are known to incorporate their songs with traditional, classical, Latin, and experimental influences. The trio was formed by Carlos Barba (main composer and pianist); hence, the group name. He is accompanied by Erik Unsworth (bass) and Lawrence Brown (drums).

"Dreams" is a quite relaxing and enigmatic track, offering the right mix of certainty and doubt to its listeners. Fitting of its title, the track suggests its listeners to dream by offering a slow, steady, and beautiful melody. No one can doubt that this song is a reflection of the group's talent and aspirations. It is the perfect soundtrack to for anyone who dares to dream and achieve.

"The Lake" has a hypnotizing feel that suggests an imaginary place where you can be yourself. Its mild and calming nature offers a sanctuary that can be experienced by listening to it instantly and reflectively. It is the perfect getaway song for anyone who just wants to meditate and be mesmerized.

Like its title, "Orange" is very bright and carefree. Anyone could say that the song matches its colored name because it perfectly describes a life that is full of positive emotions, brimming with a soothing vibe.

The Carlos Barba Trio accomplishes making the kind of music that directly represents a person's emotions and aspirations. The music that they produce has a serious degree of improvisation which definitely gives them an edge over other artists.
