Paul McCandless, Grammy-winner, saxophonist and reed player, known best for his work with the group Oregon, is returning to the stage for the first time in decades as a leader, performing his own compositions from his successful solo records.
On two tours of the east coast, McCandless will be pairing up with the San Francisco Bay Area jazz trio Charged Particles, who are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year.
The band has been playing McCandless' compositionally complex and hard-hitting music on the west coast (e.g., at Yoshi's in San Francisco and the San Luis Obispo Jazz Festival) to sold-out houses and will be playing this summer headlning at festivals like the Stanford Jazz Festival and the Erie Blues and Jazz Festival and in clubs including Birdland (NYC), Blues Alley (Washington, DC), Nighttown (Cleveland), the Deer Head Inn (Pennsylvania), and elsewhere.
