The IO- 5 is a quintet formation led by bassist/arranger/composer Iris Ornig. The IO-5 has captivated listeners around the world with its unique sound. Iris Ornig successfully combines European tradition with the expanded chord structures of modern jazz, blues inflections, improvised "riffs", swing rhythms, and call and response. The result is hybrid & fascinating, with plenty of surprises.
