Actress, Crooner Cynthia Basinet attends LA premiere "Blue Gold: American Jeans", a documentary feature the actress and sultry jazz singer appears in celebrates the cultural impact of American Blue jeans.

"Blue Gold: American Jeans" is years in the making as seen through the eyes of a jeans hunter, Eric Schrader. From fashion history and subculture aspiration to the lost tradition of American manufacturing, "Blue Gold: American Jeans" explores Americana in our globalized world, where cultural exchange and social responsibility demand greater transparency and inspire innovation. The film tributes the artists and rock stars that created an iconic wearable art that transforms with every wear and how one unlikely garment ended up connecting us all.

Narrated by Edward Burns with interviews and appearance by Iggy Pop, Yo Yo Ma, Marky Ramone, Marcus Wainwright, Brooke Shields, Calvin Klein, Isaac Mizrahi, Cynthia Basinet, Judy Collins, Adriano Goldschmied and others.

"Blue Gold: American Jeans" was written and directed by Christian D. Bruun (pictured right) and produced by Mark Romero.

"Blue Gold: American Jeans" plays Arena Cinelounge theaters until April 13. It also is available on iTunes and Amazon. The documentary played the festival circuit in 2014. But is only recently gained a limited release in cinemas.

Cynthia is best known for her iconic fashion style and having "one of the most sultry and seductive voices in the history of music" with her hits, "Santa Baby"*, "Tea For Two", "Cry Me A River" and "Going Out Of My Head".

She utilizes her visibility to raise awareness for many causes including refugees, women and children. She was also nominated for a shared Nobel Peace Prize in 2005 and recently addressed the UN for the 10th time.
