Killer drumming stands out on new Clemens Grassmann album
(Published: May 14, 2019)

Clemens Grassmann is a musician with a diverse background and very eclectic taste. He performs accomplished and open-ended tracks which blur the lines between fusion, jazz, and pretty much everything in between. His most recent studio album, Midnight Apple, combines astonishing instrumental mastery with stellar arrangements.

Grassmann particularly stands out due to his killer drumming on this particular release. On songs such as "On the Treadmill" and "The Beat Zapps," he shows his talent for dynamics, and his ability to perform with subtlety yet quite fiercely.

This record is a fine example of crossing the boundaries between various styles, stretching the boundaries of jazz and fusion in order to explore a wider range of influences.
