The Swingsations are exhilarating on new album
(Published: October 27, 2019)

The songs on Still Swingin'! are particularly well produced, and more importantly, they are performed with passion and with expertise.

The Swingsations consist of musicians who know what they're doing and they have a lot of stage and recording studio experience to really capture of the nuances and dynamics of their vibrant, invigorating music. As a result, each song on this exhilarating record really stands out, capturing the vintage thrills of Dixieland, Big Band jazz, and swing. Two of the most memorable moments include the tracks "Oh, Lady Be Good" and "Jelly Roll Blues." The sound of these compositions is charmingly old-fashioned, yet upbeat and energetic. The recording quality is a vital part of the album, enabling the band to feel like a unit.

There is a special I've feel to this release, which really sets the bar higher in terms of excitement and appeal. Ultimately, I'd really love the chance to hear this on a vinyl record; I think it would make for a fantastic 12" release indeed. There is something about this kind of music that really seems to call for it.
