Solex blends eclectic influences on ambitious, engaging "Full Moon" album
(Published: August 02, 2021)

Solex is all about embracing variety when it comes to his music. His songs are very diverse. In addition, there is something quite special about how he can blend so many different influences together.

His most recent studio album is titled Full Moon. This happens to be a very ambitious work. In the age of singles in streaming platforms, it is not very common to find artists who are willing to release full format records. In this particular case, there are 14 songs, making this album a very engaging and special listening experience for the audience.

Released in February 2021, this album has a charming sound, which feels positive and endearing. It's definitely a nice change of pace compared to the gloominess of the past year! The opening track, "Flying High," is an uplifting and powerful track, which feels like a deep dive into Solex's skills.

Moreover, the song gives the audience a first taste of the amazing production quality of this release. The album is also incredibly eclectic; you will find a huge range of influences here. From the depth of R&B, down to the smoothness of jazz and the soothing sound of easy listening music, anything goes. Some of the cuts are more diverse and spontaneous, including the fantastic "Jazzman" and "Memory Lane."

However, others have more of a verve and an instinctive twist to it. Songs like "Hot Sauce" and "Smooth State of Mind" sound so incredibly natural, giving the audience a deeper sense of just how seamlessly Solex can channel the right vibe in his music! His charisma is effortless, and this is something that definitely comes through in his wonderful compositions.

The song "Red Velvet" happens to be one of my favorites, especially because of the eloquence of the arrangement and the unique melodic ideas. The album comes to a close with the aptly titled "Until Next Time," which makes the audience want to scream for more. This is an album to enjoy from start to finish, and the quality of this amazing collection of quality songs is not going to let you down.

Find out more about Solex, and listen to Full Moon, which is currently available on some of the best digital streaming platforms, as well as the artist's official Bandcamp account.
