Exuding Joy and Charisma on Christmas EP, as Perennial Favorites Get a Modern Twist

"Worthy of celebration...brilliantly refreshing and fun"

With Over 250,000 Streams and Global Airplay, a Lifelong Dream Becomes Reality for Morris, as Music Career Gains Traction

The unlikely and invigorating success story of singer Art Morris just keeps getting better. In recent days, the 78-year-old crooner has earned a two-song national-level Exclusive Premiere in Jazziz Magazine, a Top Ten debut on the SmoothJazz Holiday Music Chart, and more.

Art's charm and charisma shine through on his 12/3 EP, ‘An Art Morris Christmas'. With a voice that evokes Frankie Valli, Art gives perennial favorites a modern twist, working in tandem with Producer Brad Cox. ‘White Christmas', ‘Let it Snow', ‘Baby It's Cold Outside' (featuring jazz singer Laura Fygi,) and more are delivered with joy and confidence. An EP highlight is Morris' duet with Pop star Tiffany on ‘Silent Night', a standout track which Jazziz Magazine praised as "haunting" and featuring an "ethereal" electric guitar solo.

Like a kid in a candy shop, Morris has been savoring this opportunity to follow his dream...and sing. It might've taken him 78 years, but he's finally got his moment in the spotlight. With over 250,000 streams and worldwide airplay, Morris is the unlikely star in a life's journey that reads like a movie...born in Brooklyn, made a name for himself in law and in business, suffered tragedies and even a headline-making theft along the way. But all the while, he yearned to make music. Singing was and is his North Star.

An expansive interview ran in Vents Magazine, and allowed Art the opportunity to discuss his life and music in his own words. Read the engaging feature, here:

His energy is wonderfully positive and infectious. In many ways, the combination of Art's personal story of triumph over adversity mixed with his uplifting music is a most welcome narrative for our times - he's created the sort of hopeful moment we all need to believe in.

Art is singing the music he loves, Sinatra, Sammy Cahn, Irving Berlin, et al. His debut EP was released late last year, and this unlikely ‘new artist' has already garnered over 250,000 streams and global airplay, with numbers that continue to grow. The Rat Pack era and the American Songbook are in his heart, and his love and respect for these songs (and for the artists,) is palpable.

Recent one-off single releases have included ‘L-O-V-E', featuring backing vocals by Vanessa Olivarez, as well as an invigorating cover of ‘Under My Skin', featuring two-time Grammy nominated saxophonist Mindi Abair. Jazziz Magazine Exclusively Premiered the track:

Art Morris, "Under My Skin" feat. Mindi Abair [Song Premiere] Art comments: "Mindi actually recommended this track. I knew immediately when I heard her sax at the beginning of the song that this production was something special. I actually cried when I heard the final mix. It was the first time I truly felt like a credible artist vs a lawyer trying to be a singer. Personally, I just like to sing. Mindi gave me the credibility."

Art Morris - A Remarkable Journey:
"I sing songs with the message that a life without dreams is no life at all. I want to inspire others that it's never too late to follow your dreams."

Meet Art Morris. His recent single- a bold and introspective take on Frank Sinatra's classic "My Way"- sees him taking a giant step forward by showcasing his vocal ability and charm amidst clean, modern production. However, behind his voice is a story unlike any others you've heard. For starters, Art's debut EP landed in late December 2020 while he was 77 years old, which began his journey towards the 250,000+ streams he's gained through different platforms and has seen his music get added to radio shows across the globe.
This release was not, however, his first foray into music, nor was it his first bold step in making a name for himself.
Art has a lifetime of creating his own success behind him, including building his massive law firm (in addition to his other businesses) from nothing. However, a timeline of tragedy and struggle aligns with that, as well: losing his wife to breast cancer, heart bypass surgery, and headline-making theft carried out by a deceitful business partner. One constant throughout all of these experiences for Art was singing. "You talk about music and entertainment-it's always been around my life," he says. Although 30 years of performing for his clients proved to be an effective marketing tool, he truly connected with the power of performance when his wife (still a breast cancer survivor at the time) created a musical show specifically for breast cancer survivors. Art adds, "We performed for as many as 4,000 people; I did that for a long time. I think I'm alive today because of that."
While recovering from a recent procedure, his longtime girlfriend heard him singing around their house and suggested he pursue it seriously for the first time in his life. "Here I am, in a splint, I'm in pain. I called who's now my vocal coach, Eva Sullivan, and said, ‘I wanna take singing lessons'. I had nothing to do. I had to get myself into something," Art says. Months of intense vocal training to refine his technique led him to a meeting with Eva's husband, producer/songwriter Brad Cox, who worked up arrangements with Art before beginning recording sessions with him at his Black Paw Studios in Lawrenceville, GA. Brad is partners in the publishing company Black Paw Music with legendary rock producer Mike Clink (Guns N' Roses, Aerosmith, Metallica).
Art remarks, "You know, it's funny, this time around- because of Eva and Brad- I feel like I got some training, and I'm improving every single week, my voice gets stronger. Now I'm kind of doing my own form of expression. I'm finding this out: I'm finding out that my style is different, my tonal quality is different, and I'm trying to sing like Andrea Bocelli, but then I'm starting to listen to me and I hear some of the Brooklyn in my voice-but it's good."
Although he's been mostly based out of Atlanta, GA for the past 50 years, his Brooklyn roots still shine through as he laughs and says, "I just absolutely love to sing. I don't care about the other stuff-let's put it this way, I want people to like it, but I love to sing for me."
