Audley Reid displays saxophone skills on new single

Sometimes an artist finds a title that actually describes his or her song. In addition, it can summarize the musician's style as well. In the case of saxophonist Audley Reid, it does both. His newest single, "Reidman Vibes," achieves just that. Whether it's intentional or not is unknown. I'm inclined to think it was.

According to Reid's website, he recently moved to Las Vegas from Chicago. Without a doubt, "Reidman Vibes" captures the spellbinding colors and vibrant rhythms of Las Vegas. It certainly sounds like Reid composed this in the city of blinding lights. Reid locks in an indelible groove. Quite clearly, this gentleman is in the zone. Anyone who has walked or cruised through Las Vegas can sense the feel that Reid aims for on this track.
Reid is a cinematic composer. His fluid sax paints images of couples during a summer stroll. The shimmering beauty of Reid's playing ignites the imagination. He combines the lush hooks of smooth jazz with the velvety caress of R&B. No surprise there as those are two genres Reid has excelled at throughout his career.

"Reidman Vibes" is exactly what is says. This instrumental cut is all about feelings. However, not necessarily sentimental ones although some can interpret it that way. There is swagger in Reid's step. He gives off that vibe, his sax emitting both coolness and warmth. A flute floats in and out of the mix, adding more flavor to the surroundings.
